Join this virtual interval run between the Henry Hudson Park and Seton Park. This workout includes and short interval set as we taper for the upcoming marathon. Enjoy the Run!
Henry Hudson Park is a fairly small section of park but it is filled with a variety of nature, athletic activities and a rich history. The park is named for navigator and explorer Henry Hudson, at the center of the park is a prominent monument that pays tribute to Henry Hudson who dropped anchor in New York Harbor in 1609.
Other past historical relics are the trees that predate the park’s acquisition, namely a cooper beach and large hackberry trees that can be seen in the virtual run. Several other younger tree varieties are dispersed throughout the park, including maples, red oak, sweetgum, and white pine.
Separated by an adjoining road, the northern portion of the park contains a popular playground and the park’s southern portion is filled with recreational facilities and provides baseball fields, basketball courts, handball arenas, and more playgrounds for old and young alike.
We then run to Seton park in the virtual interval. Seton Park is named in honor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. She is known to many as Mother Seton. She was born on Staten Island on August 28, 1774. Spending her summers at Cragdon in Edenwald in Maryland the area was later Seton Falls in her honor. Her involvement with social work inspired her to found the Society for the Relief of Poor Widows and Children in 1797.
Follow along with this interval training virtual run and enjoy the rich history on display.
